I have had great success in the past using Movie Maker. Just recently it has
started jamming on me and when prompted to send an error report the
Moviemaker file crashes. When connected to the internet (aol) my whole
computer just freezes.
I had tried system restore and re-installation. Any other suggestions?

What has changed on your system? Have
you installed new software / updates?

Some users have reported issues with IE7...

Could be...have you tried uninstalling WMP11?
Also check to see if you have IE7...might be worth
a try to uninstall it also.

John, thanks again for the response, will do as you suggest. Further to my
problem I cannot send a Microsoft error report when prompted. The first one
says Microsoft Moviemaker has encountered a problem, the second says that Dr
Watson Debugger has encountered a problem. When I try to send either I get
the message that I need to be connected to the internet, which I have been -
this makes no difference.

Frank, I have the same problem. Do not click or close the "shut down window" drag it to the side of your screen and continue to use the program.

Thanks digimom, thanks for the responce, nice to know you're not alone with
these problems! From reading some of the other Windows Media Player 11
complaints it would appear there is a built in 'microsoft problem' with this
version. I'm not quite sure what the significance of your 'I stayed at a
Holiday Inn last night' statement? Which 'shut down window' are you referring
to when you say 'drag it to the side of the screen and continue to use the
programme'?
