Hi,

I'm running Windows XP Home ED. lately when I close applications like my
pic., my music, my computer, etc. a blank web page opens with about:blank
in the address bar. This is getting really annoying!! Any suggestions how I
can stop this?
Thanks

To be clear on this are you saying that with nothing open but My computer,
you close that, and internet explorer (what version is it, IE6 or IE7?)
opens on it's own to about:blank?

Without knowing more I would start with a thorough scan for malware.

The exact same annoying thing has been happening to me and I finally
fixed it after wasting hours with scans and HT logs! I just went to
Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, Reset, and when it was finished
resetting I downloaded the Windows updates and everything is back to
normal and running smoother than ever. I didn't even lose my favorites!
