Hi guys, I just wanted to get on here and say thanks for all the folks that help others with their problems. Your help doesn't go unnoticed. I do want to ask a question however. I am playing this new game that came out and it is really taxing my cpu. I have a 2.4 GHZ AMD with 512 PC2700 and an ATI graphics card with 512 DDR. The thing I wanted to do is find a way to load the things that are needed for the operating system and if nothing else, the graphics drivers and sound drivers to be able to play the game since that is what I'm trying to do. I want to play this game and I have it set to low in the graphics settings but still have the skipping effect. I really don't know what to do at this point so any help will be much appreciated. I heard that you can't start in safe mode and still have graphics and audio start so I guess that is out of the window. I appreciate any input given.

No...safe mode is not the answer.

Things that *might* help:

1) Disable your internet connection,
close all programs especially virus
scanners before opening the game.

2) Install more RAM.

3) Increase the size of your Virtual
Memory Paging File. The following
article explains how:

(308417) HOW TO: Set Performance Options
in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=308417

4) Go to the support website of your
video adapter's mfg. and search
for a current video driver. If you find one
be sure to read the installation instructions.
