How do you disable the feature that lists your recently
opened files under the File bar?

Hi,
Disable and/or Clear Media Players Play List (Line 11)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
To change it manually - Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\P layer\RecentFileList
Delete RecentFileList, or manually remove them in the right pane.
NOTE: This registry key is re-created the next time you open a file in Media
Player.

In windows media player 9, select tools > options > |privacy|
Uncheck the box labeled 'Save file and URL history in the player'. This will
stop WMP from keeping the recently used list in the file menu.
Also to temoprarily clear the list, click both the clear history and clear
cd/dvd buttons.
In other versions of windows media player, search in help > help topics, for
the keyword 'recent'.
