Hello all.
I received a DVD / CD of a tutorial.
I have a gateway media center computer and when
I try to play the CD through updated version of
Windows Media Player an error
message comes up saying that it cannot play the CD
because the correct "Video Codec" is not installed on
my computer. Message # cood11c8.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance. Tech

Windows Media Player has the ability to automatically download codecs if
they are needed and not on your system. Start WMP and go to Tools > Options
> Player and check the box "Download codecs automatically"

True, but it won't be able to locate all codecs it needs. That is why there
are products like GSpot Video appliance that can be used to determine what
codec the movie was encoded with, so that the appropriate codec can be
downloaded.

......... (you missed the really important part... if they can't spell video,
don't expect them to be able to find out where to get G-Spot Codec
Identifier!!!!!!!)

which can be found at:
