When I adjust the volumne I have a double bar across the
screen. One is the regular small green one, and the other
is a larger, orange one shadowing the smaller green one.
Ad-ware did not correct it, nor did my virus scan find
anything. I've looked and tried all I know to do. Can
someone point me in the right direction to correct this?
Maybe a register key change or something? It's very
annoying. Any suggestions and help would be greatly
appreicated. I am running XP SPl

Am going to take a wild guess here... It's possible the green one is the
on screen display provided by Windows. I don't know of any way to turn
this one off.

The orange one is probably provided by other software (multimedia
keyboard software, for example). My old HP system provided an orange
volume control bar that was controlled by a separate icon in Control
Panel named OSD (on screen display). Disabling the OSD did not disable
the volume buttons on the keyboard. There may be an icon in control
panel with settings for this orange bar or a shortcut in the start menu
that leads to a window where preferences can be set.
