Hi -
those sometimes very long filenames (they will be every day longer) are
disturbing me working on DOS prompt level (I do it since old days...).
Is there a way to display the short construct of file name (8.3) in addition
to the Origin as in all Win-OS before?
Thanks

Certain command prompt commands allow for the display of both long and short
name.
e.g. dir /X displays both.

cmd.com for long file names and command.com for the short 8.3 file names.
