I recently bought a 3.5" floppy drive to load DOS 6.21 along with XP.
How would I set the enviornment variables? Now the computer boots before the
floppy so I may have to look at my bios and have the floppy boot first. Now
assuming it's that simple will anything have to be set in xp?

I assume that's what you need to do. Go into the BIOS setup, and look
at the boot order. Make sure that it checks the floppy disk drive
before the hard disk.

XP won't have a single thing to do with it. When you boot from that
disk you'll be in DOS and your computer won't know anything about XP.
Be aware that if your disks use NTFS, you won't be able to use them
from DOS. And you may not have access to USB devices (but modern
BIOSes should give you access to USB mice and keyboards).

Be aware that if your hard drive is NTFS, you won't be able to see it when
booting from the floppy (at least not without running special software).
