View Full Version : "Unknown device" hardware wizard message

This may not be the correct forum, but here goes anyway;

I have a new home-built machine, with Intel D975 BX2 Extreme motherboard,
Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme processor, etc., etc., and a RAID 0 dual SATA 300
hard drive array, and Windows XP Pro SP2.

I purchased and fitted a Titan Amanda TEC cooler for the processor. The
installation included a PCI card for temperature control, and this in turn
has its own power supply (spare lead from the computer PSU).

Each time I start the computer, the New Hardware wizard tells me that this
PCI card is an "Unknown Device", and there is a yellow question mark beside
it in the hardware list - it is not recognised, and there are no drivers for
it.

There were no drivers in the packaging, and none are mentioned in the
documentation for the cooler unit (and none are available on Titan's
website). Repeated E mails to Titan are not replied to, and the unit itself
appears to be working faultlessly. can't seem to get any help on this
anywhere.

I've tried changing slots (only 3 available - the others are PCIe), makes no
difference.

Any ideas, please?

Thanks

Chris
