Hi all,
I have my laptop plugged into my television through an S video cord, an
everything works fine until i try to play a movie. The movie plays on the
laptop screen, but does not play on the TV. Instead, the screen stays black
any ideas why this is happening?

Brent, usually on the laptops there is an alternate function key to switch
the display between the laptop screen, the s-vid output , or both. Just look
at the keys and usually in either green or blue writing, you should see
something about this function. Hope this helps. To access these functions,
there is sometimes a key labeled [Alt. Fn.] or something similar.

Hi Brent,
I had the same problem and finally(!) was able to solve it last night around
2AM. It has to do with primary and secondary displays. Apparently, Media
Player will only play the movie on the primary screen, so I had to change the
videocard (ATI) setup to designate my TV as a primary display. Now all I have
to do is to hook up sound :)
Hope it helps,
Luda
