Hi. Can someone advise me about sound files. I have various midi files on my
system that won't play when I insert them into an email with the web sound
tool. If I insert a wav file, it plays just fine. In fact, these midi files
won't play in Media Player either, though I've set the options so that Media
Player is the default player for midi files.

My question: How does one convert a sound file from one format to another,
using the basic XP software? I have Media Player, QuickTime and RealPlayer,
plus whatever other bits that came with XP. Can someone tell me how convert
a midi file to a wav file, please?

Linda, Open Windows Media Player then select Tools / Options.....

Choose the File Types tab and select the settings again.

Somehow, I think "Musicmatch" has one over "Windows Media Player"
here and manages to rob the "rights" to the File Types.

Good luck Linda
