i'm running windows xp home on a 10GB hdd (+/- 2.5 GB free space)... i'm
planning an upgrade to a bigger (my mobo can handle up to 160 GB) hdd... can
i move programs from the little drive to the bigger one, or do i have to
re-install everything? i have CDs for almost everything, (a couple of
programs are downloaded), so re-installing won't be an insurmountable problem
if i have to go that route...

Easy option would be norton ghost 10.0. it copies everything including your
boot record and OS.

Hi,

Most hard drive makers offer free programs on their sites that'll
transfer your old hard drive to your new one.
