Greyed out standby on shutdown

The standy option is greyed out whenever I log off. Have tried the power
options to get it back on, I find this impossible. Reason being. Because
the following features are missing:

Enable Power Management Support
And
Hibernation

Is there another fix for this issue?

[The One]

When my standby button was greyed out I was advised it could be a problem
with my graphics card. So I changed the card for a new one and the standby
button worked.
