It doesn't matter what I'm doing on the internet, even if I'm closing my
computer for the evening, the "Send Error Report" window will pop up. If I
click "Don't Send" sometimes it will shut down the computer screen and
restart. Other times, I can continue doing what I'm doing. Why is this
happening and how can I get it to stop?

It could be many reasons for that Sherry, memory leak, spywares, plug-ins
installed, third party applications not releasing the memory usage while you
trying to close the IE one of them the Anti-virus and so on...
1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.

2... You need to be sure your system is clean from malwares and Viruses by
scanning for them.

3... You may have a bad RAM try to test your RAM by running Memtest by
downloading this tool and unzip it and make a floppy or CD/DVD and run it on
Reboot.

You may need to reposition/reset the RAM sticks in their slots.
HTH.
Let us know.

These popups only occur after an error has occurred, and it is
generally advisable to follow through and send the error report, even
though it may take a minute or two of your time. There are a couple
of very good reasons for this:

1. There may actually be a known solution for the problem that caused
the error, and you will get a response directing you to that solution.
This actually happened to me earlier today when I was working on a
client's machine and an error occurred (Internet Explorer stopped
responding). I submitted the error report and was informed that the
error was caused by an out-of-date version of Google Toolbar.
Uninstalled Google Toolbar and no recurrences of the problem. The
client will reinstall the latest version of Google Toolbar if and when
she decides she wants it back

2. Microsoft uses these reports of errors, provided they are
submitted, to accumulate statistics as to what specific errors are the
most serious, based on severity and frequency. These statistics are
then used to select priorities for detailed investigation and fixing.
So if your errors go unreported you are reducing the chances that
these will be chosen as priorities to be fixed.

Good luck

Sometimes when I am on websites and a pop up or drop down window opens, when
I close it I get an error report and the whole of the internet closes down.
Would following your helpful fix it notes to Sherry help with my prob too?
Many thanks
