Error message at logon: Wks.Cal.exe failed to initialize

Currently running XP Home Edition on a Dell Inspiron 6000. Lately,
every
time I logon, I receive the following message: "Wks.Cal.exe failed to
initialize properly. Click "OK" to terminate the application".
When I run a search for WksCal.exe, the file isn't found. I don't
notice
any adverse effects in performance, but it's an annoyance to have to
deal
with it every time, also i cannot get into works calander or can i
delete it to reinstall it as suggested by microsoft when I sent the
error report. If I try to delete all i get is blue screen error.
Does anyone have any helpful suggestions of how to delete works.

I'm not sure if I understand. Are you going to Start/Control Panel/Add or
Remove Programs/Change or Remove Programs(on left of screen)/scroll down to
Microsoft Works and click/then click Remove? You can reinstall Microsoft
Works using the Works CD (if you have one) or if Works was on the computer
when you purchased it then Dell should be able to tell you how to reinstall.
Most likely the directions are there on your computer or you can contact
Dell.

Before you try the above or if you've tried it , but got no joy, you might
want to try System Restore, and go back to a point in time when everything
was working properly. Start/Help and Support/under Pick a Task click Undo
Changes to your computer with System Restore. If you are running an
antivirus program you might want to temporarily deactivate it before running
System Restore as some antivirus programs, particularly Norton, don't play
nicely with System Restore.

Good Luck
