we have had a vertical line on our monitor and today a second line is running
through our screen; we have a laptop, so i can't uninstall the driver; i
have tried restarting the computer; i have tried turning off the computer
and logging off; all to no avail; we can't see the lines when the screen is
white, but i am concerned that we will get more lines; how can we fix this?

Well generally this means a Bad Video card driver, so try to uninstall and
reinstall the Video Driver or Update it from the MotherBoard manufacturer or
you can update the whole MB chipset drivers for better performance.
HTH.
Let us know.

Also, make sure your case/vga card does not have any heat issues. Make
sure fans are clean, as well as inside the case.
