is there a way to launch the screen saver from the
keyboard?

You mean is there is pre-set key combination? The answer is no. But, some
keyboards may have a key defined for that function. You may find some
freeware or shareware that can create such a function on your keyboard; you
might want to search the Internet for such an application: www.google.com

Make a shortcut to a specific screensaver on your desktop - you can
also drag it down into the quicklaunch area. Right click, select
properties. In the shortcut area, type a letter so that it will be
evoked by, say, Ctrl-Alt-S (just type S, the shortcut area will fill
in the rest).
