I am running IE 7. When I open a web page and want to put a shortcut to that
web page on my desktop, I can find no way to have that page open in
Maximixed.

I have to view the web page in a Normal window in order to drag the URL to
my desktop. When I then right click on the desktop icon, I have no option to
get the seb page to open maximized.

How?

If you haven't done so already, you might want to post your
question to the Internet Explorer 7 newsgroup. See if Verizon
provides access to this newsgroup.

microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

If not, you can connect to it through the Microsoft news server
by clicking on this link.

That said, here are a couple of methods that don't require
dragging and dropping.

1. Right click anywhere on the web page and select "Create
shortcut" from the menu. You will then be asked if you want to
place a shortcut to the web site on your Desktop. Click Yes.
Close your current IE window and click on the desktop shortcut
to see what size window opens.

2. In IE7, if you don't have the Menu bar enabled, tap the Alt
key once. On the Menu bar go to File -> Send to -> Shortcut to
desktop.

Good luck
