View Full Version : Deleting IE TIF Removes Items from Start-->Run

Hello:

I find that when I delete the IE 7 TIF by right-clicking the icon and going
to Internet Options, it sometimes--though not always--also deletes the items
I have listed at Start-->Run.

It's a rather long list of items, and it's often hard to rewrite them
properly.

Is there a way to delete IE 7 TIF without deleting the Run items as well?

TIA

-Eli

Deleting TIF should not do that but deleting history will.

That's fairly lame.

IF I was in my browser options, and said 'Clear History', I would expect it
to clear the browser history, not ALL history.

Thanks much, Frank.

I must've deleted the History as well as the TIF during those times i had
lost my Run items. Tried just deleting cookies and TIF and Run items are
saved. Yes, I am a bit perplexed as to why it's set up that way, but I dont
see any urgent need to clear the History when clearing the Cache.

Thanks again:
-Eli

Hi,
Also, did you know...
You can export the registry key that stores the RunMRU and restore that list
anytime. In regedit, browse to the key
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\
Explorer\RunMRU]
Select that key then go up to Registry> Export. Save it to the folder of
your choice.

Sorry you think it's lame, but deleting history has deleted Run history for
me at least as far back as IE4.
