View Full Version : Task Bar Item Sizes

Hi all,

Would anyone have information as to controlling the sizes of the icons/text
in the status bar? In particular the System Tray and QuickLaunch. Those
two seem to be separate from anything you can do in System; Display tools.

I have eyesight problems, so I adjusted the standard 96dpi setting to, I
think it was, 105dpu using the Custom setting. That worked fine for the
screen, but not for the quick launch and system tray. It's probably an
illusion, but those icons actually seemed to get smaller!
Yes, I have Classic settings, and Small Icons chosen. Without the Small
Icons, they're just way too big on screen and the Start Menu fills thescreen
completely and then some, meaning the scroll setting would be necessary to
get to see everything.

So, basically, I'm set up pretty good, but I'd like to increase the size of
the icons in the Quick Launch and System Tray. The notification are where
running apps display is fine. I don't really care much about the height of
the task bar itself.

How do I increase the icon size in Quick Launch and System Tray, hopefully
without affecting other things too much? I'd like them increased by about
125%, I think.

TIA
Pop`

The Setting is here :
Display Properties > Appearance > Advanced > Caption buttons

Notification area = System Tray

The area where running applications are displayed is called.. hmm.. Running
Applications area.

Good Luck, Ayush.

Right click the Taskbar | Select Lock the taskbar to unlock it | Right click
an empty area of the Quick Launch area and select View | Select Large icons
or Small icons

View will not appear in the menu if the Taskbar is locked.
