WMP 11 will not play on TV

I connect my laptop to my TV through S-video, I can see web pages, e-
mail, etc. but when I play a DVD on my laptop using windows media
player, it does not show on my TV; I can see the media player but not
the DVD image although I can see it playing on my laptop. Is there a
setting for this or do I need a HDTV. mine is just a regular 36"
panasonic TV. I would appreciate ant advice.

What brand of laptop? Visit their website and click the support link.
I know with one brand - Toshiba, it is a couple of keys to alternate
WMP to play on laptop screen or TV-OUT via S-video, but not both.

I have a TransPort Zx (Micro PC), it is an older model but works real
well, I will look at the website and see if they have any info on this
