Transfer old files and settings in new PC

A copy of my old hard drive was placed in a folder on the
new PC.
How do I transfer my old files and settings from this
folder to the new XP system on the same PC?

Old data files you can simply use in place or drag some where else.

Settings can be transfered at this point in time. That should have been
dealt with before the drive was replaced.
