I have a sony DCR-TRV20 video camera, it has a s-video out port and I want to
use it as a web cam. Is this possible? It is the older 8mm type of tape
recorder. What software or freeware is available? Can windows media or
movie maker do this? Thanks

You can configure such a cam as a webcam, but
do you have an S-Video capture input on your PC?
If you don't, you will have to install a capture card
or use an external capture device such as Pinnacles
Dazzle USB external capture device, a cheaper
option than a capture card or external device is to
just buy a basic USB webcam.
If you are confident your PC has an S-Video capture
input - but don't confuse with your graphics cards
S-Video out, ensure you have a capture card.
To configure..depends what you will be using it for?
MSN messenger, Yahoo, AIM etc have help sections
with full guidence, or google produced 1250,000 results:
