View Full Version : Temporary internet files

As my computer had slowed down a bit, I wanted to delete
my temp files. I entered the folder (Local
settings/Temporary Internet Files) and selected all (ctrl-
A) and deleted, but was left with three files that won't
delete. Two look like ordinary temps (from expedia's site)
and one is something strange - []ttpc[][] (sort of, can't
get it exactly with the font here), size 2kb. When I look
at the folder properties, the folder size gets bigger in
front of my eyes although not connected to the net at the
time. Ran updated Norton without finding anything. ???

Hi, Tal.

The TIF files do NOT behave like ordinary files!

The normal way to delete TIF is by using the Tools | Internet Options...
from inside Internet Explorer. Using this approach, you can delete the
files, change their location, etc.

Also, on the Advanced tab of Internet Options you can scroll way down, under
Security, and check the box to empty the TIF every time you exit IE. You
might want to try this, especially if you have broadband and can re-download
a page almost as quickly as you can retrieve it from the cache.
