I am using Word 2002 and Windows XP. I have created my own templates but
now I can't find them on the computer. I can use them but I can't find
where they are stored. I want to save them to a disk as a backup. I've
done the search feature but no luck. Any suggestions?

Try looking in C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates

That is where I tried to go first but Application Data is missing preventing
me from going any further.

It's a hidden folder. You need to go to Tools>Folder Options>View and show
hidden files and folders.

The template location for your given copy of Word is the User Templates path
given on the File Locations tab of Tools | Options.
