When attempting to clean my friends computer from malicious programs and
scripts I discovered a dxc.exe from deluxe communications, PopCorn.net,
new.com, Spy Sheriff, SpyLocked, Zlob, and many more. I could not remove
these with ANTIVIR antivirus software and SPYBOT spyware removal tools.
However I discovered 32 viruses and 173 adware/spyware on the first scans!!!
I decided to restore the system to a previous point due to the viruses not
cooperating with the removal software. When doing this I failed to notice
the A/C plug became disconnected from the back and the battery went dead. I
now cannot get the computer to respond. When the computer is turned on the
screen remains black. The fans and HDD can be heard whirring as normal but
the screen will not change from black. PLEASE HELP ME HELP MY FRIEND! Any
help will be greatly appreciated.

Using sys restore on an infected PC is allmost ceratinly a waste of time.
When a PC is infected sys restore should be turned off and only activated
once the pc is clean, as all you are likely to do is reinfect the pc when
you restore.
You have a win cd or recovery cd?

you should simply do
a repair installation with
the win cd.

it will reset the o.s. and
delete the infected restore
points. if you tried using
them previously, then you
simply reinstalled the
contamination again.

however, you should
immediately boot into
safemode and disable
all startups. you don't
want any of them to initiate
a reinfection sequence until
you can clean your system.
