Really weird problem.

Hello,

I installed a program on my other computer yesterday and something
weird is going on. Whenever I login after booting up, I get logged
into a completely new account. For example, if I log into my normal
account, "normal", on my normal domain, "domain", it will create a
completely new account called "normal.domain" with extremely messed up
settings. The toolbar doesn't work and installation windows keep
popping up and disappearing. I have tried logging in with another
administrator account and it does the same thing. I can access my
files and whatnot, but I cannot actually log in to my account. Safe
mode does not work either. I'm running Windows XP SP2 on a tablet PC.

It is a similar problem to the one this fellow experienced:

However, the fix there isn't entirely working. I can get my desktop
image and icons back, but the toolbar is still messed up and I still
can't do some basic functions like right clicking on files or deleting
things. I can't uninstall certain programs and I'm getting windows
installer popups when I try basic shell functions.

Anybody know how I can fix this strange problem?

It was some Cessna training software. I have installed it before with
no problems on an XP computer, though. Based on what I've read on the
internet thus far, I do not think the problem was with the program
itself, but instead with that particular shutdown when my settings
were being saved.

of the software according to its instructions and that too asked me to
reboot. When I did, it took longer than normal and the computer never
actually shut down, it just brought me back to the logon screen. I did
a shutdown of the computer from there and when I tried to login after
that, the problem began.

Another symptom I've noticed is that the actual logon takes much
longer than before. It sort of hangs there with no computer activity
for a minute or so after entering my username/pass before loading the
wrong profile. Don't know if that is an indicator of anything
important.

Sounds like serious trojan / zombie malware. I recommend you treat the
situation accordingly.
