I'm not trying to be a smartass here, but sometimes the
simple obvious solution is in fact the solution. Have you
checked how much space is on your hard drive lately? They
can fill up fairly fast without you even noticing,
especially if you often open up 10mb documents.

Go ahead and open up 'My Computer' (should be on your
desktop, if not, it's in your start menu), and right click
on your C Drive Icon. After that click on Properties and
see how much space is left.

No offense taken, I have 60gigs free. I have also tried to copy it in .doc
format to a blank cd. That wouldn't work either.
Here is the odd thing: when saving the file as a regular word file (.doc) I
got the error message that my disk was full and to close all windows - this
also happened trying to save the .doc to a cd.
BUT
when I saved it under the option of html, then it saved it ok but said I
would lose my macros (whatever those are...) Once saved as an html it is ok
and readable. This is just a sort of junk file that I put together by
cutting and pasting items from the web. The items are practice test
questions that were scattered on several pages and I wanted to put them
altogether into one hard copy study guide - but first I wanted to SAVE the
file.
I just don't understand why I can't save it as a doc file.
