I tried to run a program I downloaded from the internet to
Cdrive. I couldn't do it. I went to a newsgroup(which I
can't find now) and I was told to download to my desktop.
I went to download again, but it decided itself to
download to C. How can I change that?

The "desktop" should be a valid (but unconventioal) folder to download
to, as would any other folder. This probably is a red herring.
However, you can drag the file from the desktop to a folder inside
Windows Explorer if you wish to move it.

You downloaded the program. When you could not run it, what was the
error message? What did the computer tell you what was wrong?
