i'm trying to transfer images and video from my Sony Mini DC by 2 days as
Windows doesn't recognise the device by firewire cable.

but now i'm in a worse situation: i also lost the ieee 1394 port itself. It
means that, on device manager, what i see is, ieee 1394 doesn't work.

what can i do at that point? d'you have any idea?

It sounds like the IEEE1394 port on the motherboard has failed. The
cheapest and quickest way around this is to purchase a PCI card with several
IEEE1394 ports on it.
