A user's account has suddenly begun creating and using a new default folder
name. For instance, the user's previous folder, located under Documents and
Settings was Joe Smith When Joe logs in to the computer, his folder is now
Joe Smith.COMPUTER NAME All of his previous docs, settings, email etc. remain
under the Joe Smith folder but new docs, etc. are stored under Joe
Smith.COMPUTER NAME Any ideas on how this user account can be redirected to
the Joe Smith folder name?

Sounds like something corrupted the original profile and XP is creating a
temporary one on login. It's not much use to try to fix it. Create a new
user account. Copy the settings and data from the old to the new then when
you know that profile is working delete the others.

After that you can recreate the Joe Smith profile, copy the data/settings
back to it from this temporarily created profile and if it works delete the
temp one.
