no sound

i am using media center and can watch dvd great pic, but no sound, tryed
several dvds and same . can watch live tv and recorded tv no problem, tryed
realplayer and windows media player and same no sound,, only pic, tryed
several patches and updates ,, please help killin me here

When you say you've tried several patches and updates, did you include the
AC3 codec within those?
