Screen stays black when I close the lid of my laptop in safe mode

In Safe mode, if I close the lid of my laptop and reoopen it, the hard drive
light is blinking but the screen stays black. So I have to turn off my laptop
by keep pressing the power button.
I installed the new video driver but it's still the same.
Can you help?

Hello,

In Safe Mode, the installed video drivers are not used - a generic video
driver is used which may be the cause of the problem.
