View Full Version : Windows Media Player 11 Crashes Every Time I try to Play Video Clips (AVI)

Hi -

I have a similar problem to what I saw on an earlier post. I have a
windows XP MCE system, and two weeks ago I used the media center to
play some of the short video clips taken from my digital camera.
Everything worked fine on Media Center, but when I tried to play any
videos on Windows Media Player 11 after that, I would get a message
that says " the system has to close", and WMP would shut down.

Windows Media Audia/Video files still play...

I rolled WMP 11 back to 10 with no luck, then I rolled it forward back
to 11. I also tried to use system restore, but I was unable to
restore anything from prior to using Windows Media Center to play
those small clips.

Do you have any advice on how to fix this?

The files are OK - I have put a couple on a pen drive and run them on
my laptop with WMP 10 without issue.

Thanks - I just got the Vista Home Premium Upgrade disks, but I'm
afraid to upgrade until I get the bugs out of my XP setup!
