View Full Version : Settings for ALL Users?

Hello all. New to WinXP Home. When setting up the desktop and programs, is
there a way to make one user's setting the same for all users? Right now, I
put things in a folder on the desktop, then switch users, and have to do the
same in the new user's desktop to see the same folder and contents. Pretty
tedious. Is there a better way?
Many thanks.

Goes in the profile for "All Users". You'll notice it mimics a regular
user account in all repects. Copy the desktop icons from where they are
to the "All Users" profile. Can see this easily by right mouse clicking
on Start button, and picking Open or Explore "All Users".

Just don't try copying Favorites into All Users. The new TweakUI for XP
has some customization for the All Users profile. It calls it the "logon
desktop", but you can copy some current user features over to the
Default User profile without mucking up the initialization features of
All Users.
