I have a number of devices attached to an old PC they are all USB 1.1/1.0
not sure but they are oldish.
A new PC has been ordered with 6 USB2 ports on the board. Will everything
work ??
What generally is the difference between USB 1.1 and 2 and will all older
devices work on the new USB 2 ?

Hi,
Yes, USB 1.0 and 1.1 devices will work on the new USB 2.0 ports. The
difference
between the 2 is transfer speed (USB 2.00 is 480 mbps).

Get them to install the USB2.0 drivers, then everything will work. They
are backward compatible with USB 1.0 equipment. To use USB2.0 the
equipment must be USB2.0 designated. Anything not designated as USB2.0
will run at the slower speed. :-)

They will all work if you have the same operating system. However, if you
upgrade to XP some of the devices may not work. If they will work with XP
then they will work with your new USB 2.0 ports. Just make sure when one
does not that you should trouble shoot the device and not the USB.
