I went past the 30 days on activate. what now? I need to
install a new xp that will let me activate, the old one
was on a different computer. Do I need to format the hard
drive? Is there an easy way of uninstalling the old and
reinstalling the new?

Molly,
If you never activated AND it was a Retail copy (NOT OEM), then you simply
install it on the other machine and activate there. You should also delete
it from the prior machine by either Re-Formatting the HDD or Un-installing
it.
If it is an OEM version, then legally it is forever bound to the first
machine it was installed on (this is a major distinction between OEM and
Retail product), regardless of whether it was activated or not. Thus it may
not be installed on another machine.
