Help please,
My XP Pro laptop's hotkeys have a problem.
In particular F5 does not switch to the external monitor - nothing
happens.
The monitor is in good shape, on, working and still works externally
on my old NT laptop.
F1, F2 and F3 do not work either but F6 and F7 do work.
Might anyone know if there's a simple answer to this problem, or what
I might try.
The only complicated thing about this machine is that I run Virtual PC
under XP.
Seems silly that even F1 (help on hotkeys) doesn't work.
Please, thanks.

Hello,

You may want to try reinstalling the keyboard drivers from your utility disc
that should have come with the laptop. Better yet, get the latest updated
version from them manufacturer's website.

Another thing you can try is to restore your system to the point where the
problem was not there. If you installed any programs after the point of
restoration, you may have to reinstall them.
Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.
