on XP sp2 when opening or uploading jpegs in a folder such as when you do to
upload onto a myspace account for example, to keep it in thumbnail view each
time you browse the folder to select the photo, and or photos you want to
upload or open. I can change the folder generally but when I open from IE and
select to upload they are always on icon view, changing it to thumbnail each
time gets redundant.

SWAG: Open/Save As dialog.
Try one of these.
"Do you find yourself constantly changing to details view, then resizing
the columns to see the full file name? File-Ex can do this automatically."
File-Ex File Dialog Extensions

Set Detail View for all Folders Open/Save As
(This was found @ http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm #85)
Or this one.
"View: Here you can choose how you will view the list of files & folders in
the Open/Save dialog boxes. You may choose one of the Windows standard view
settings."
