My son saved a video with sound and pictures. When it was opened, the
picutures have all slid to left, messing up all the timings. His back up
version is the same. Any ideas? If he cant get it back to the way it was, is
there a chance the same could happen again?

If its an actual "video" then try downloading the windows media encoder 9
series from microsoft,in the encoder, select "convert audio/video" select the
file, run it thru the encoder 1 or 2 times....Also,for playback of "fault
free" audio/
video, you can run just about all thru the encoder,+ with video the convert
process lets you decide frame size, usually the problem with large pictured
video.....
