Just purchased a SONY HD camcorder (HDR-HC5 tape format)
Capturing the tape on the hard drive produces HD video file with the
extension m2t.
WMP cannot play/recognize this extension.
Same on my new PC with Windows Vista
Anybody has a solution for this?
Thank you

How do Sony recommend you edit the file? Do they have a recommendation for
third party software?

their own software allows minimum editing (trimming clips)
same software allows viewing th files
I want to put files on a network drive, and Sony software does nOT recognize
networks - works only local
that's why I want to use Windows Media Player, which does NOT see m2t files...

my Newsletter #120 about Sony's HDR-HC1 camcorder is online... with a link
on my Cameras and Capture Devices > Brand Notes > Sony page (scroll all the
way down).
I captured with Vista's Movie Maker to DVR-MS files... and with Vegas on XP
to .m2t files... then using Vegas to make and AVI file that worked in Movie
Maker 2.1... it's all covered in the newsletter.
