I am finding unknown files in the Windows directory such
as $NtServicePackUninstall$ and
$NtUninstallKB821557$. Are these upgrade files that must
remain or can be they be cleaned out??

That is not correct .
$NtServicePackUninstall$ is the service pack uninstall, not Windows XP.
There is no "uninstall" option for XP except formatting the derive and
starting over.

Hi

Sorry, my mistake - $NtServicePackUninstall$ is for uninstalling the =
Service Pack. There could, however, be uninstall information for XP if =
upgraded from a previous version of Windows.
