I recently had to recover my computer and when I did that I had to reinstall
a lot of my programs and prior to that my computer played dvd's now it does
not. I reintalled the dvd decoders I have a nvidia decoder and a cyberlink
decoder with player I tryed reintalling the driver nothing has worked. The
drive just does not recognize the dvd every time I put one in it just says
insert disc.
Any ideas?

Sounds like an issue with the DVD Drive.
Maybe the following article will offer some
ideas:

Some users report success with the following

I realize now that it does not play cd's either. It can however read data
discs and software works that way. I found that the DMA funtion under Device
1 reads transfer mode "not applicable" I don't know if that might have
something to do with it. There must be something that can be adjusted or a
fix maybe.

DVD is a matter of ENCODING...and then....DECODING....I use the WMP-11 to
view a DV-file or a WMV-file...and my DVDs get played on my Home DVD
Player..in MPEG2 and LPCM-sound..
.................................................. .................................................. .....................
I think for the PC you first need the DIRECT-X driver..and then the
Microsoft VISUAL C++ redistributable..
.................................................. .................................................. .....................
If I have a PC DVD Disk problem I load my CYBERLINK PowerDVD[XP]..
.................................................. .................................................. .....................
OS re-installs and hardware rollbacks might be in your future.
