View Full Version : using time synch

I'm trying to get the time synch in XP to work. It keeps
giving me an error message:

An error has occurred getting status of last synchronization.
The RPC server is unavailable. Searched the KB and didn't
find anything relevant.

I disabled the firewall and still received the same message.
I've tried both time.windows.com and time.nist .gov.
I also tried one from the web using an IP address.
No luck.

Any help will be appreciated.

Go here, http://www.worldtimeserver.com/ , and download the free atomic
clock sync. Install it, ping the server and you're set.

Thanks for the help. I thought it was working at one point
but maybe not. Just seems like if they put it in it should work.
Oh I fogot it's an MS product :-)

Now that I think about it didn't the latest security flaw
involve RPC? I bet when I loaded the update it shut
something down. Which is OK. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
