I was getting booted from my online game due to a direct x error. Downloaded
updates and was still getting booted. Someone told me to unistall and then
reinstall it. Well I uninstalled it, and now don't know where to get it to
re-install it. Can anyone help me

Plato,

This is an XP newsgroup not a Vista one

This is the latest DirectX:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=b406cf67-d926-463b-99e8-27199d6626b5&DisplayLang=en

If you look at this page:

http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-US/AboutGFW/Pages/DirectX10.aspx

It says:

One of the most exciting developments in Windows Vista is the groundbreaking
graphics technology. Many of the newest Windows games will take full advantage
of the next-generation graphics technology in Windows Vista called DirectX® 10

There is a link on that page for the latest DirectX
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6
A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en (web installer)) & it takes you through to version
9

The best link is to the redistributable which I provided in my original reply &
at the top of this post

Plato,

I know some of the info on these pages is sometimes wrong but at the base of the
table it says DirectX10 Windows Vista Exclusive:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DirectX

If you scroll down further it says DIRECT X 10:

Windows Vista ships with DirectX 10 and is the only version of Windows for which
it is offered, and it has a large number of changes...
