View Full Version : Explorer erroneously deletes file before touching any drop-down op

Occasionally (but not always) when I right click on a file name in Explorer
to get
the drop-down menu, the file instantly disappears. It's not in the recycle
bin, or
anywhere else.
This system is Windows XP Pro maintained to the latest maintenance and
security
levels. Currently I have to do backups before I touch any files, as there is
no
recoverability (that I know of).

i will help you as much as i can
Have you checked your system for malicious progams like viruses , worms ,
trojans ,ect that may reside in your system.
if your sure that the files you have click permanently disappeared or
deleted, their is a very good program called undelete plus

Consider trying Ctrl/Z to undo the last operation.
Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers:
