Is there a way to only download newsgroup headers (not the bodies) so as to
not waste memory space? Then I can only download the bodies of only those
posts that I am interested in. But then - how would I then download a body
I am interested in?
Is there a way to drag the mouse cursor over several headers so as to delete
a bunch at a time?
Thanks
Wim

You only download headres in first instance. Normally, when reading (by
selecting the header) the body is downloaded.
To change this: Tools>Options>Read: unmark download automatically.... You
can then download the body by selecting the header and pressing space-bar.

Not in OE - the properties of the newsgroup are where the download
parameters can be set.

Click on the News Server Name in the LH pane. In the right hand pane, a
list of Subscribed Groups shows. You can change the download parameters
there to headers only.

Single-click the first message, move to the last message and Ctrl-Click.
All the intervening messages will be highlighted. Click Delete.

On either the Folder List or Outlook Bar, right-click on a
newsgroup, and choose Properties. Then on the Synchronize tab,
you can choose what you want to download.
Repeat for each group.
This isn't so much to save space, though, as to save time
downloading. Even if you use the space, you can always delete the
messages.

Just click on the message and it will happen automatically.

Just like everywhere else in Windows, click on the first message
you want to delete, then shift-click on the last. That selects
everything between the two.
