screen saver does not start

this has gone on for some time now. If I select to preview the screen saver,
it works, but when the designated time elapses, nothing happens. what is
wrong with my Windows now?

Go to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_s.htm and scroll down to the
Screen Saver section. There are many ideas there.
