After years of being irritated by always getting a filmstrip view as default
when opening a folder, it occurred to me it might be possible to change
this?

Yes I have to use the view menu to change it back to thumbnails every I open
a folder, I'd just like it to remain at thumbnails as a default if at all
possible.
