How to install .NET framework 2.0 or greater?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to install .NET framework 2.0 or
greater for XP?

I have downloaded the tools seaTools under Seagate.com to check any bad
sector for HDD. Once I install it, it requests for installing .NET framework,
and I get no idea on how to get it.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

On the other hands, does XP have any tools to check bad sectors for HDD?

When the File download window appears, please click the Save button,
and follow the directions to save it to the Desktop. After downloading
the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 setup file and the updates on your
Desktop, please double-click the files to manually install them one by one.

Reboot if necessary.

First of all, note that if you have a program that wants the .net framework
2.0, that's what you need, not "or greater."
